Terms of Service

1. Who we are

ParkSmarter is a cashless parking service operated by IPS Group UK, company number 09971838, registered address Unit 5 Railway Court, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, United Kingdom, DN4 5FB. These terms govern your use of the ParkSmarter website at parksmartermsqr.uk and the parking service it provides. By using the service you agree to these terms.

2. The service

ParkSmarter lets you pay for parking by scanning a ParkSmarter QR code with your phone, choosing how long you wish to stay, and paying by card. The QR code is displayed on a ParkSmarter device at a parking location.

3. How to buy parking

  • Scan the QR code and select an available tariff or stay.
  • Enter your vehicle registration. You are responsible for entering it correctly – an incorrect registration may lead to a parking charge from the operator. Where the location uses Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras, your paid session is matched to the vehicle on site by the registration you entered, so a mistyped registration can result in the vehicle being recorded as unpaid or overstaying even when payment has been made.
  • Pay by card. Your parking is confirmed once payment succeeds and you receive a confirmation, which states the times your parking is valid from and until.

4. Payment and pricing

Prices are shown before you pay and are set by the parking operator for each location. Card payments are processed securely by Stripe; we do not store your card details. The amount you see at checkout is the amount you will be charged.

5. Your parking session

Your parking is valid only for the vehicle registration you entered, at the location you paid for, and only between the “valid from” and “valid until” times shown. You must ensure your vehicle has left by the “valid until” time. Buying parking through ParkSmarter does not override any other rules, signage or restrictions at the location.

6. Refunds

Parking sessions are non-refundable once purchased, as the parking time is made available to you immediately. If you believe you have been charged in error, contact us at support@parksmartermsqr.uk and we will look into it. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

7. Enforcement

Parking at a location may be enforced by the operator or landowner, including by ANPR cameras. Paying through ParkSmarter is not a defence against a parking charge if you parked outside your paid time, entered the wrong registration, or breached the location's rules. Any dispute about a parking charge is a matter between you and the operator who issued it.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the service available at all times but cannot guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. If you cannot pay through ParkSmarter, do not park in breach of the location's rules – use an alternative payment method if one is offered, or park elsewhere.

9. Our liability

We provide the ParkSmarter service with reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for parking charges, fines or losses arising from an incorrect registration you entered, parking outside your paid time, or breaching a location's rules. Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they were last changed; the terms in force are those published when you buy parking.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Kingdom.
